Recent funded projects


March 2019

CLIPE aims to train young innovators and researchers in the field of virtual character simulation and animation and design the next-generation of VR-ready characters. The project is led by the University of Cyprus (Dept. of Computer Science) and is funded by a Marie-Sklodowska-Curie ITN grant with a budget that exceeds 4M€. In addition to the Univ. of Cyprus and Silversky, beneficiaries include the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (Spain), the Institut National de Rercherche Eninformatique et Automatique-INRIA (France), the University College London (UK), Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (Germany), the KTH Institute of Technology (Sweden), and the Ecole Polytechnique (France). Partners include renowned institutions and companies: Treedy’s, the Amazon Development Center, Studio Globo, the BBC, and Uber France.

December 2018

Neo-PRISM-C focuses on neurodevelopmental disorders and aims to train ESRs on how to conduct research using modern methods and techniques from Psychology, Neuroscience and Computer Science. The project has a budget of 4M€ and is funded by a Marie-Sklodowska-Curie ITN grant. It is led by the Center of Applied Neuroscience (CAN) at the University of Cyprus. Beneficiaries include CAN and Silversky (Cyprus), UC Louvain (Belgium), The University of Edinburgh (Scotland), Niilo Mäki Institute and the University of Jyväskylä (Finland), The National University of Athens and the University of Crete (Greece), MTA TTK (Hungary), and the Regionaal Instituut voor Dyslexie B.V. (Netherlands). Partners include various international companies and institutions, e.g., Brain Products Inc, Mind’s Eye Research Ltd, the University of Amsterdam etc.

April 2018

EnterCY aims at developing an integrated virtual and augmented reality platform utilizing cutting-edge Information and Communication Technologies for promoting Cyprus as an attractive destination. EnterCY will combine modern technologies (e.g. machine learning, location awareness, VR) aiming at attracting new forms of tourism, thus contributing to strengthening the economic competitiveness of Cyprus. With a budget a bit over 1M€, the project is funded by the the Cyprus Research & Innovation Foundation (IDEK) under the Integrated Projects call. It is led by the Frederick Research Center and includes Silversky as a partner, along with the University of Cyprus, CY.R.I.C , IMH C.S.C Ltd, the Cyprus Tourist Guides Association, the Association of Cyprus Travel Agents, and the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works.
