We are a private SME that offers services to professionals and scientists, as well as any other individual who can benefit from advanced visualization and interaction with virtual environments. We design accurate and realistic models of either existing environments or to-be-built spaces using a combination of architectural plans, graphics, and digital photography. These models can be then experienced with a variety of modern devices (e.g., 3D TVs and monitors, stereoscopic projectors, tablets, the web etc) as well as in 1:1 scale Immersive Virtual Reality (IVR) set-ups.
We collaborate with professionals with interests in the construction and decoration business (e.g., civil engineers, architects, interior designers), as well as companies involved in lighting fixtures and household/office equipment. We also collaborate with (or offer paid services to) scientists whose research or practice involves VR applications (e.g., treatment of phobias, social skills training) and other tools (e.g., computer-based experiments for social research, eye-tracking, electrophysiologal recordings etc.).
Our Research & Development division is constantly testing new products and developing new technologies and is eager to be involved in new research collaborations. Our personnel has extensive experience with seeking and administering funded research projects from European outlets. If you have ideas for research collaborations or you want to learn more about the services we provide, feel free to contact us. We have recently moved into our state-of-the-art facilities in the Ayios Pavlos area of Nicosia where we welcome potential collaborators and clients.
Silvesky3D was established with partial funding from the Young Entrepreneurship Programme of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Cyprus. It was formed based on ideas that were previously explored with a "Proof of Concept" grant awarded by the European Research Council to the Experimental Psychology Lab of the University of Cyprus. In 2011, members of Silversky3D were awarded (under the name "ISD") a 3rd place award in the Cyprus Entrepreneurship Competition.
